All of the colorful slugs in North Kitsap are being held hostage at the Village Green Community Center---and you are invited to help free them with a special medallion! These medallions are hidden in bushes, on benches, in rock walls and trees---all over Kingston. By Saturday, August 18th, you must buy your slug-hunting license ($2 each) at either the Village Green Community Center, or the Kingston Chamber of Commerce. On Saturday, August 18th, starting at 9:00 AM, you can pick up your Medallion Map at the Village Green CC---then go find a medallion and come back to free a slug from captivity!
Here are the rules: 1) You need a LICENSE to go medallion-hunting. Buy one or more ($2 each) between July 27th and August 18th at the VGCC or Kingston Chamber of Commerce. The limit is one medallion per license, and both license and medallion must be presented to exchange for a slug. 2) Come to the VGCC at 9 AM on August 18th to get your Medallion Map. 3) Hunt for the medallions, and when you find one, bring your license and medallion back to the Library in the VGCC building to liberate your slug. (One slug per medallion per license.) You can bring your slug hume to take care of it forever and ever.
ADULTS are invited to the SLUG AUCTION, on Saturday night August 18th, starting at 6:00 PM. There will be adult beverages and refreshments, and the opportunity to bid on the most beautifully decorated captive slugs. No RSVP necessary. Just bring a friend, and your checkbook.
