MDA Summer Camp Seeks Donations
06/27/2008
by Wendy Armstrong
MDA relies on the generous support of local donations to support its local programs.
Arts and Crafts is extremely popular for these kids at camp, ranging from 6 - 21. It is their favorite way to create mementos of their special week with their peers, a very important week.
I am Wendy Armstrong, a fellow Kingston Chamber member. I will be volunteering for the week at camp in the crafts center and have been told by MDA they are very short of funds. So, I am requesting funding for arts and crafts supplies from our great Kingston Chamber members for MDA Summer Camp. We have come up with lots of new projects for the campers this year and we would greatly appreciate your support. There are 2 craft sessions each day for 65 campers. We could really use about $700 - $800 for supplies.
We are looking for:
Art and craft supply stores to contact for discounts or donations. If anyone has contacts or would like to refer me to someone that would be great.
Financial Donations for purchasing supplies - $5, $10, $20 $50 - $500+ would be extremely welcome.
Donations are tax deductible!
If you would like to hear our specific projects please call me, I’d love to tell you all about it.
If anyone would like to volunteer as a counselor they are short just a few of those as well. Must be 18 or older. Anyone with a college kid home for summer?
Thanks so much for helping!!!!
