August 2, 2008 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
August 2, 2008 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
In this one-day workshop, at the Cleo's Landing, students will learn how to make beautiful fused glass pendants (cabochons) that can then be turned into wearable works of art. Workshop will also include an in-depth discussion on the basic principals of glass fusion and the principals of firing in a glass kiln. No prior glass working experience necessary.
Come and make two distinctive and unique fused pendants (cabochons) using 2 different bail methods to include glue on bail and channel bail. You will also be making 1 pair of button type earrings. Each participant will learn the art of making fused glass jewelry by stacking layers of vibrant glass, frit, stringer or metallic mica. You will learn how to fire your glass and learn the safety precautions. This is a great class for beginners. Let your imaginations go!!!!
Class requires pre-registration and prepayment of tuition to hold your spot for the class. Any cancellations must occur 48 hours before the class is scheduled to start. The class fee will not be refunded but will be applied to another fused glass class. Cancellations received less than 24 hours prior to class time or no shows will result in forfeit of the class fee. The student will be notified and receive a full refund if the class is cancelled due to low enrollment.
Class tuition is $75.00 and includes all materials. Please bring snacks if you wish. Coffee and water will be available.
Finished pendants and earrings will be available to pick up at the Kingston Art Gallery on Sunday August 3 unless other arrangements are made with Karyn Cott, fused glass instructor.
