STILLWATERS NOVEMBER WORKSHOPS
11/17/2009
SALMON VIEWING — the salmon have been making their way back up Kitsap streams! There are a few great local places to check them out. However, if you want a little more of a guided experience, stop by two of our local streams on one of the upcoming Saturdays in November (14th & 21st) between 12-2pm. Stream Team's "Salmon Stewards" will be at Chico and Dogfish Creeks to answer questions and get you up close and personal with the salmon life-cycle.
Dogfish Creek: Poulsbo Fish Park @ 228 NW Lindvig Way
Chico Creek: On Chico Way between Golf Club Hill Rd. and the newly replaced Chico Way bridge
SHORELINE MASTER PLAN — Tuesday, Nov. 17, 6:30 - 8pm at Silverdale Community Center. Kitsap County is offering another public informational meeting about the updating of Kitsap's Shoreline Master Plan. Because Kitsap hasn't updated its SMP in over 30 years, this is a big one! Some developers and large land owners are lined up against the planning process, even though they know this has to be done. Those of us who want the County to provide strong protections to the shoreline, to protect Hood Canal and Puget Sound, to protect the shoreline ecosystem and to maintain our natural heritage — we need to be at this final citizen meeting for beginning the SMP process.
