PUGET SOUND ROCKFISH CONSERVATION PLAN
- - - IT"S ALL ABOUT HABITAT RESTORATION
The Puget Sound Rockfish Conservation Plan is intended to rehabilitate our rockfish population. Dr. Norman Baker, of the North Olympic Sierra Club, has done an extensive review of the science and the issues involving rockfish, as well as the marine reserves required to sustain them and other species endangered or threatened in Puget Sound. The issue of Marine Reserves could be a contentious issue because reserves will restrict fishing in specific spots. On 15 Jan he’ll present his findings to interested persons in Kitsap County. After his presentation there will be a question and answer session.
