SUMMARY:Kitsap Great Give
DESCRIPTION:About\n\nUnsurpassed impact for the entire community!\nThe Kitsap Great Give is a 24-hour “give-day” event that unites our community through a special online donation platform to support the many nonprofit organizations that make Kitsap a great place to live – for all of us. \nIn a single day\, more than $2 million dollars will be invested in the direct support of our community through donations from individuals\, businesses\, and organizations to a wide variety of nonprofit organizations. Last year\, the event generated $2.19 million from 3\,783 donors through 10\,016 gifts to support 357 local nonprofit organizations. \nPresented by Kitsap Community Foundation and the United Way of Kitsap County\, this annual “community movement of generosity” has resulted in more than $12 million in community support since 2014. \nHow can I support the Kitsap Great Give?\nCommunity partner sponsors are needed. As our “first donors in\,” sponsors make the Kitsap Great Give possible by providing critical support to help underwrite the costs of the event. Additionally\, our sponsors fund a bonus pool that provides a 5% match for all gifts (including early giving and day-of gifts made by donors either online or offline)\, as well as provide support for prizes offering fun incentive challenges to encourage donor participation to further benefit nonprofit organizations. Click here to view our Sponsorship Packet. \nFor all other donors\, there are multiple ways you can make a gift to the Kitsap Great Give on Tuesday\, April 19\, 2022 (or via “Early Giving” that starts April 1 and ends April 18 at midnight): \n\nUse your credit or debit card to give online on this website (KitsapGreatGive.org) from a computer or mobile device\, as this website has been optimized for easy access through mobile giving from a smartphone (iPhone\, Android\, etc.). Data charges for personal mobile devices may apply and are not reimbursed;\nMake a gift by check\, credit\, or debit card by returning our reply envelope included in the KGG direct mail appeal distributed to more than 100\,000 households in Kitsap;\nMake a gift by check\, credit\, or debit card using our reply device clipped from the special supplement provided by Sound Publishing to the Bainbridge Island Review\, North Kitsap Herald\, Central Kitsap Reporter\, and Port Orchard Independent and mailing it to the Kitsap Community Foundation;\nCall the Kitsap Community Foundation at (360) 698-3622 to make your gift over the phone.\n\nHow can I further support nonprofits in my community?\nWe encourage individuals to give to their favorite organizations year-round\, as our region’s nonprofit organizations are an incredible force for good. Not only do they focus on eliminating the suffering caused by social problems\, they also work – often in partnership with others – to prevent and eliminate the social problems that cause harm. Additionally\, nonprofit organizations support the enrichment destinations and activities (such as museums\, libraries\, performing arts centers\, parks and wild land preservation\, community gatherings\, festivals\, etc.) we all enjoy as part of a vibrant community eco-system\, often described as Kitsap’s quality of life. \nHowever\, two organizations in our community\, Kitsap Community Foundation and the United Way of Kitsap County work to advance – often in partnership – the common good in our region. \nOpportunities to support Kitsap Community Foundation\, include:\nBy partnering with donors and others to invest in the nonprofit sector\, Kitsap Community Foundation works to vitalize stronger\, more vibrant communities for the benefit of all who call Kitsap and its surrounding areas home. \nDonate to our Operating Fund\, and you will support the ongoing impact of the Kitsap Community Foundation in our community\, including making possible important events like the Kitsap Great Give. \nOpportunities to support United Way of Kitsap County\, include:\nUnited Way of Kitsap County has been our proud Presenting Partner of the Kitsap Great Give since its creation in 2014. As the event’s largest sponsor\, United Way has been instrumental in helping to generate more than $12 million dollars for community nonprofit organizations through their support of the Kitsap Great Give. \nWorking to advance the common good in our region\, the United Way of Kitsap County focuses on supporting community impact programs that focus on our 3 key initiatives Health\, Education & Financial Stability. Lifting up our community and empowering people so we can all Live United! We invite you to go to our website to see how we put your financial contributions to work for all of Kitsap County. For more information about United Way\, call (360) 377-8505 or visit their profile page by clicking here.
